World leaders are talking to American media behind the scenes about the diminished status of President Joe Biden. They are afraid of the return of former President Donald Trump – because he makes them pay their bills – but they are concerned with the lack of ability of Biden to lead.
While our nation’s allies worry, our adversaries see this situation as an opportunity. China continues to push around countries in its region, such as the Philippines, a country allied to the U.S. Russia continues its illegal war on Ukraine. Iran remains staunchly in support of the terrorists of Hezbollah, the Houthis in Yemen, and Hamas in Gaza. North Korea is considering sending troops in support of Russian operations in Ukraine.
The status of the President of the United States is vital to their collective and individual decision-making.
Meanwhile, U.S. media, mostly aligned ideologically with the Biden administration, have suddenly noticed the downward spiral of Biden. They are out in force quoting anonymous sources in the White House and foreign leaders about signs of Biden failing to perform normally. Some of the quotes they have gathered come from months ago, but they chose not to report on them. It is clear that leftist media saved the stories for a Biden downfall as happened in the recent debate.
Democrats are in the midst of deciding what to do. With Biden at the top of the ticket, the prospects for victory are grim. If a change is made and the reins are given to Vice-President Kamala Harris, or there is an open convention, the party risks further embarrassment. The latter two options would be a kick in the teeth of the millions of Democrat primary voters. The Democratic National Committee would essentially be telling voters that their votes were meaningless.
Democrats cannot legitimately change candidates today. If Biden had suffered a life-threatening illness, the electorate would have understood. The version of Biden that received victories in the primaries (he won them all) is EXACTLY the candidate they voted for across the nation.
