President Biden and former President Trump visited border cities in Texas last Thursday as part of their respective presidential campaigns for 2024. But the visits were very different in their purpose and effect. Biden went to Brownsville. That section of the border is quiet and is quiet because Texas put up razor wire and virtually sealed it off. He met with a small number of border officials, almost none of whom were cheering him on.
Just read this morning in the Daily Mail that the government has been secretly flying immigrants into the US. The story counts 320,000 arriving to parts unknown on overnight flights.
Probably should verify or at least clarify the story. But if true, the Biden administration has a serious , indefensible problem.
This was the source for the DM story. Unsure of the reliability here, either, though it does seem as something of this scale would be difficult to remain a secret.
Not to beat on an already dead horse, but I accidentally stumbled upon this from the Associated Press. The AP "fact check" says the story was false, but then said this ....
“Under a Biden policy in effect since January 2023, up to 30,000 people from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela can enter the country monthly if they apply online. . . . Biden exercised his ‘parole’ authority, which, under a 1952 law, allows him to admit people ‘only on a case-by-case basis for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit.’ ” And: “On Jan. 26, the agency reported 327,000 were vetted and authorized for travel.” And: “[C]iting an exemption under the Freedom of Information Act for law enforcement–sensitive information,” the government is not disclosing at which airports migrants are dropped off.
So the only difference in the original story and AP's "fact check" says that the 327,000 were "vetted and and authorized for travel."
